The Monday Mindset

The Monday Morning Mindset Shift That Changes Everything

As Sunday night begins to sneak out, that familiar feeling begins to creep in. The weekend is ending, Monday is getting ready to makes it way in, and just like that your chest feels tight, and your body feels heavy.  Rings true?

So many of people experience the "Sunday Scares" and you are not alone. The sense of dread about the upcoming work week is a niggling pain each of us have experienced in some form. But what if your Monday morning could become your secret weapon instead of your dreaded enemy?

The Problem with Dreaded Monday

The so-called problem can be looked at in the way we approach it. When we approach Monday with resistance, we are ideally telling ourselves that five-sevenths of our life is something to put up with rather than embrace and integrate. That can make it hard.

As Steve Jobs once said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." But even if you do not love every aspect of your job, you can still love how you show up to it.

The Mindset Shift

Do not let Monday happen to you, rather you happen to Monday!!

Simon Sinek reminds us that "Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion." The key isn't always changing what you do – it is in fact changing how you think about what you do. Yes, change the way you word your Mondays in your brain.

Practical Monday Morning Strategies

1. The Sunday Head Start Create a brain shift by spending 10 minutes every Sunday evening writing down three tasks you are looking forward to accomplishing in the coming week. Not dreading but looking forward to. This simple language shift primes your brain for opportunity rather than obligation or aversion.

2. The Monday Morning Mantra Before diving into tasks or checking emails, ask yourself: "What's one way I can make a positive impact today?" It could be simple as bringing good energy to a meeting or helping a colleague.

3. The Progress Mindset View Monday as a new opportunity, not a struggle. Then Monday becomes a chance to step closer to your goals, build fruitful relationships, and develop skills. When you start your week like this, you begin crafting it.

The Ripple Effect

I believe in the power of the Ripple Effect. When you start with this mindset, your start something powerful. Your energy begins to change. Your relationships begin improving. Your work quality progressively improves. You stop living for the weekend and start living for your life, as a whole.

You have more control over your Monday than you think you do. The question then isn't whether Monday will come – oh it will for sure. The real question is: who will you choose to be when it arrives?

Your Monday mindset doesn't just change your Monday. It changes everything. Just this one shift will then change the way you approach any challenge in your life.

Have a great week ahead. You have got this!
